A primary challenge in this area is scouting for talent that meets ET criteria, such as a capacity for critical thinking and resourcefulness.
● Strategic Goal Alignment: While the CEO sets the overall company goals, the Director is responsible for independently defining and executing the educational department's strategy to support that vision.
● Networking & Collaboration: A key external function is to build and maintain relationships with industry players and healthcare professionals. This networking serves a mix of purposes, including recruitment, curriculum development, and brand building.
Team Development & Management
● Nurturing & Mentorship: The Director is responsible for nurturing & mentoring ETs, helping all team members identify their strengths and limitations, and assessing their communication skills.
● Performance Management: The Director will monitor ETs' Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This includes ensuring that ETs meet with each of their coaches twice a month ("Know Your Coaches") and that coaches are successfully passing their monthly quizzes (scoring above 5 out of 10) to validate the effectiveness of the ET's teaching.
● Facilitation & Observation: The Director will act as a facilitator in "Edu-meetings," where ETs challenge one another, stepping in to provide direction when needed. For "Edu-huddles," the Director's role is purely observational, providing feedback on the ET's delivery, especially for branches with less frequent physical contact.
Educational Systems & Operations
● Curriculum Oversight (Edu-Rhythm): The Director oversees the "Edu-Rhythm," a system of three 13-week semesters per year. The Director introduces specific themes each semester, which ETs then use to design their "Edu-huddles" for the coaches. The success of this teaching is measured by the monthly coach quizzes.
● System & Process Integrity: The role acts as a "System caretaker" for key company platforms like the Live More Kickstarter (LMK) and the Move Lifestyle App (MLA), training planner, milestone check-in & coach’s tier up. The focus is to ensure ETs know how to teach coaches to use these tools properly, rather than hands-on technical management.
● Long-Term System Building: A crucial long-term goal is to build robust systems that support a streamlined onboarding process for new coaches and create a clear development pathway for coaches to become ETs. This is vital for supporting the company's rapid expansion goals.
